MARCO BELGIORNO-ZEGNA AM (CHAIR)

Marco Belgiorno-Zegna was the managing director of Transfield Holdings, a major engineering, defence and infrastructure company responsible for projects such as the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and the design and construction of the 10 Anzac Frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (to 1999).

He was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the engineering profession and the arts (1998); was nominated Professional Engineer of the Year by the Institution of Engineers (Sydney Division) (1996); accepted into the Australian National University Hall of Fame (2003); named BRW Business Leader of the Year- Construction and Property category (1991.

Marco has been involved in numerous ‘not-for-profit’ organisations including: President of the Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (1999-2002), a NSW government cultural institution that includes the Powerhouse Museum and the Sydney Observatory; Director, National Portrait Gallery (1999-2000); Director, Centre for Independent Studies, a leading independent think tank (1995-2005); and Director, ChildFund (1995-1998), a child sponsorship organisation with particular focus in Asia and PNG.

Marco has great passion for music of all genres, especially classical, and enjoys singing in a choir.

Carolyn Fletcher AM (DEPUTY CHAIR)

Carolyn Fletcher AM, was the Co-Founder of the Australian office of Black Isle Communications, a global consulting group working in leadership development.  She has extensive experience in the charitable not-for-profit and statutory authority realms.  She is the Founder and Executive Director of Opportunity Cambodia, a charitable organization focused on supporting  the care and education of young, disadvantaged Cambodians.  She is an Honorary Life Governor of the Benevolent Society in New South Wales. 

Ms. Fletcher’s past community involvements have been extensive and include Chair of the National Art School in Sydney, Director of the Australian Haydn Ensemble, Chair of the Australian Theatre for Young People, a board member of the Rotary Club of Sydney and Chair of its International Service Committee.  She has been a Director of the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and the Darling Harbour Authority.

Ms. Fletcher is a Member of the Order of Australia and was awarded an AM in recognition of her significant services to the community.  A graduate of the University of Sydney, she earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Masters in Town and Country Planning.

JAN BOWEN AM, FRSN, BA [USYD]

Described by the AFR as “The high priestess of the move to demystify the law”, Jan Bowen is Director of Plain English Communications, specialising in producing corporate documents in clear, reader-friendly language. She is also a best-selling author, having published over 30 books on a variety of topics, including popular law and travel. For its three year lifetime Jan was the ‘You and the Law’ presenter on the Channel 10 lifestyle program Til Ten, and was also a weekly commentator on Radio 2GB, as well as a monthly columnist for The Australian Women’s Weekly.

Jan has had a lifelong passion for music and the arts. In 2019 she stood down after 14 years as Chair of Sydney Youth Orchestras. During her leadership, SYO expanded to 14 orchestras catering for over 500 talented young musicians and became recognised as an integral part of the cultural fabric of NSW and Australia. Other Board experience includes nine years on the Board of Wenona School, the last three as Chair. She was also on the Board of the Union, University and Schools Club, chairing its Arts and House committees. In 2016 she was awarded an Order of Australia for her support of the arts.

ADRIAN MAROYA

Adrian Maroya is a member of the New South Wales bar, practising from Ninth Floor Selborne Chambers, and a graduate of the University of Sydney in law and Italian, specialising in 18th Century literature. He has a wide practice in commercial law, equity, and related areas.

Adrian has a lifelong interest in music, musicology and art.

KEVIN MCCANN AO

Qualifications: BA, LLB (Hons) (Sydney University), LLM (Harvard University), FAICD

Kevin is Chair of Telix Pharmaceuticals and China Matters and a Director of Evans Dixon Ltd. He is a Male Champion of Change, a Presiding Pro Chancellor of the University of Sydney as well as a Member of the School of Project Management Industry Advisory Committee, the Council of Barker College and the Advisory Committee Australian Equities Flagship Fund. He is a former Chairman of Macquarie Group Limited and Macquarie Bank Limited, Origin Energy Limited, Healthscope Limited and the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. Kevin was a Partner of solicitors Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens) and Chairman from 1995 to 2004. He was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the law, business and the community in 2005.

SKYE MCINTOSH (Artistic Director)

Skye McIntosh is the founder and Artistic Director of the Australian Haydn Ensemble, now in its tenth anniversary year – an audacious undertaking and a testament to Skye’s musicianship and entrepreneurial spirit.

Skye attended the Royal Academy of Music, London and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, has made numerous concert appearances as soloist and director and has performed internationally with the Australian Haydn Quartet at The Juilliard School. She has also toured nationally with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Pinchgut Opera and the Australian Romantic & Classical Orchestra. Skye will record Mozart's Violin Concerto in G major with ABC Classics in early 2022.

JON NORTH

Jon North is the Managing Director and Founder of J.B. North & Co, a company that specialises in corporate advisory services. He was previously a Managing Director of Gresham Advisory Partners Limited and a Senior Partner of Allens Arthur Robinson where he acted on a wide range of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions. He was a director of Delta Electricity from 2012 to 2017.

Jon has a keen interest in classical music and youth education. He was a director of the Sydney Youth Orchestras from 2009 to 2021. He was a member of the Cranbrook School Council from 2010-2022 and was the Chairman from 2020-2022.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts (University of New South Wales) and a Masters of Law (University of Sydney).

VIVIENNE SKINNER

Vivienne was arts advisor to former NSW Premiers Carr and Rees, and then speechwriter and senior adviser to Anthony Albanese during the Gillard and Rudd governments. She grew up in Cooma in the Snowy Mountains and her earliest exposure to the arts was the occasional arrival of professional performers coming to town.

Vivienne has Masters degree in Urban Policy and Strategy (2018) from the University of New South Wales, and a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University. She is Principal of the urban consulting company Metropolis and a Professional Fellow at the School of Built Environment, University of Technology Sydney.

She has been a director of numerous companies including the Adelaide Film Festival, the South Australian Film Corporation, and Legs on the Wall. She is currently Chair of WestWords, which builds literacy and writing skills among children and emerging writers in Western Sydney, and is a director of the Women’s Housing Company which provides safe and stable housing for women and children at risk of homelessness.

She has a passion for classical music and has been a modest piano player since the age of six.

PETER YOUNG AM

Peter has over 40 years of experience in the finance and investments sector.

Peter was previously the Chairman of Standard Life Australia, and subsequently Aberdeen Standard Investments Australia, Chairman of Barclays Australia, Senior Advisor at the Royal Bank of Scotland (formerly ABN AMRO), Chairman of Investment Banking at ABN AMRO Australia and New Zealand, Chairman of the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), Chairman of the Transfield Services Infrastructure Fund; and Chairman of the Board of the Australian Federal Government-owned Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC).

Peter was also previously a Non-Executive Director of Fairfax Media and the Sydney Theatre Company, a Trustee of the NSW Art Gallery, a Trustee of the Queensland Art Gallery, Chairman of NSW Cultural Management, and a member of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority Board.

Peter is presently a Principal for The Adelante Group and a member of the Garvan Research Foundation Board.

Peter is a recipient of the Australian Federal Government’s Centenary Medal, and in 2008 was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for his services to business and commerce, particularly in the areas of finance and investment, and to cultural and environmental organisations.
