Haydn's Joke quartet embodies his humour at its best - beautiful string writing combined with much trickery to keep the listener guessing what will happen next. The Ensemble follows this with Mozart's stunning Spring quartet and Schubert's dramatic Rosamunde. This is a program of sheer delight and explores these great classical composers at their finest.
